People who come from some racial/ethnic minority groups, and the low-income community
already face multiple barriers to accessing health care, including lack of insurance, access to
high-quality education, unemployment, housing instability, transportation, childcare
challenges and minority groups are already underrepresented in the mental health field.

These inequities in treatment are a social determinant of health that puts the very diverse
BIPOC communities at increased risk of getting sick and dying. Not surprisingly, the prison
pipeline often captures children who have underlying, often undiagnosed and untreated
mental health disorders and developmental disabilities. Also, when substance disorders and
involvement in the criminal justice system are present; these issues can become
insurmountable.
Mindfulness programs are now widely applied in schools, prisons, hospitals, veteran centers, and
other environments. Our program uses a combination of Trauma-sensitive mindfulness meditation,
that bridges the gap between finding wellness in mind, body, & spirit. Also, it increases strength and
flexibility, and strong respiratory health.
A Catalyst for Equity and Creative Healing, 24 Hour 8-week certification program, that
analyzes the Health of the BIPOC Community, Schools, and Prison, systems through
multicultural lens. Addressing the concern of those whose race, ethnicity, religion, gender
identification, income, disability, or other social factors fall outside of the majority.
